candle pic kane_edited-1James M. Kane, age 77, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Friday, September 19, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, Wisconsin following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Friendship, Wisconsin. Father James P. McNamee will officiate. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until the time of Mass on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Military Honors will be presented by the Adams County Honor Guard.

Interment will be at a later date at the Quincy Cemetery, Town of Quincy, Adams County, Wisconsin.

Jim was born August 08, 1937 in Cicero, Illinois to James Patrick and Lois Jean (Trostle) Kane. He served in the 3rd Division of the U.S. Marines, 1955-1959. Jim married Judith Ann Pogline on September 26, 1959 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He worked as a steamfitter with Local #601 until his retirement in 1998. Jim also worked the family farm most of his life.

Jim enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting, gardening, was an avid wood splitter, woodworking – making walking sticks, making maple syrup, creating folk art with iron, and spending time with his family.

Jim was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and often served as an usher there, the American Legion Red Cloud Post #250 and the Adams County Honor Guard. He was also a member of the Gunnery Sergeant Alan P. Loper USMC – Wisconsin Chapter of Third Marine Division Association.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James P. and Lois Jean Kane and his son, Patrick J. Kane.

Grandchild: Katelyn Kane of Clinton, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Rebecca Polum of Green Bay, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Alexander Veraguth of Alexandria, Minnesota
Grandchild: Theodore Veraguth of Alexandria, Minnesota
Grandchild: Gunnar Veraguth of Alexandria, Minnesota
Grandchild: Grayson Feucht of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Sianna Feucht of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin
