George Hilary Nawrot

NawrotGeorge Hilary Nawrot, age 88, of Adams, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2015.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Friendship, Wisconsin. Father James P. McNamee will officiate. Interment will be at the Quincy Cemetery, Town of Quincy, Adams County, Wisconsin. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home and again from 10:00a.m. until the time of mass on Friday at the church.

George was born February 12, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Hattie (Grube) Nawrot.

He served in the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged on November 19, 1946.

George married Arlene Wikman on October 25, 1957 in Chicago.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing horseshoes, vacationing in Florida, Shooting, lifting weights, drinking his coffee, spending time with his family.

George Retired from Main Township School in Park Ridge, IL in 1991 after 27 years of Service.

He was a member of the NRA.

George was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hattie Nawrot; brother, LeRoy, Edward, and Norbert; sisters-in-law, Jeannette, Esther, and Evelyn; brothers-in-law, Les Hamilton, Glen Wikman, Emil Tosch, and sisters, Lorraine, Barbara and Delores.

Beloved husband of Arlene, loving father of Shannon (Joe) Tanner, Late Georgia (John) Kaspryk, Rose (Don) Kolomis, Anita (Lester) Wilson, Rob (Josey) Nawrot, Dave (Ange) Nawrot. Devoted grandfather of 15. Great- Grandfather of 6. Siblings, Harry (Virginia), Evelyn (late Glen), Jim (Bonnie).

    Uncle George was a joy. Everyone will miss him.

    My favorite story to listen to was his trip to Canada. I remember that big fish on his wall back when we visited his house in Illinois.
