Gene “Geno” R. Manthey, age 57, of Friendship, Wisconsin died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at House of the Dove in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Jack Pine Saloon in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. John K. Stake will officiate. Military Honors will be presented by the Adams County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Jack Pine Saloon.

Geno was born May 20, 1957 in Adams, Wisconsin to Glen and Gladys Manthey. He graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1975. Geno served in the Army from 1975 to 1978. He married Holly Pease on November 11, 1978 in Adams, Wisconsin. Geno worked at FCI – Oxford as a prison guard from 1983 to 1995 and later at Terrace Homes from 1995 to 2013.

Gene enjoyed attending sporting events and concerts with his friends, woodworking, and spending time with family and grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed in Gene’s memory to his family.

Geno was preceded in death by father, Glen Manthey (August 18, 2009).

Brother: Greg (Lisa) Manthey of Montgomery, Pennsylvania
Sister: Gloria (Jim) Barretto-Kaufman of Bettendorf, Iowa
Sister: Glenys (Jon) Koch-Elliott of DeKalb, Illinois
Grandchild: Christian Manthey of Plover, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Samuel Manthey of Plover, Wisconsin
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
