Geno Manthey
Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Jack Pine Saloon in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. John K. Stake will officiate. Military Honors will be presented by the Adams County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Jack Pine Saloon.
Geno was born May 20, 1957 in Adams, Wisconsin to Glen and Gladys Manthey. He graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1975. Geno served in the Army from 1975 to 1978. He married Holly Pease on November 11, 1978 in Adams, Wisconsin. Geno worked at FCI – Oxford as a prison guard from 1983 to 1995 and later at Terrace Homes from 1995 to 2013.
Gene enjoyed attending sporting events and concerts with his friends, woodworking, and spending time with family and grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed in Gene’s memory to his family.
Geno was preceded in death by father, Glen Manthey (August 18, 2009).

Grandchild: Christian Manthey of Plover, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Samuel Manthey of Plover, Wisconsin
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

I was very saddened to hear of Gene’s passing. I worked with him at FCI Oxford, we both enjoyed working with each other when he worked the rear gate and I worked in the tower. He was a pleasure to work with, a very passionate union steward and a friend. My heartfelt condolences to the family.

I met Geno only once but he was a pleasure to talk to. I am thankful that he brought his son Jeremy (and Chris) into this world and will be ever thankful for the friendship of his family. My heart goes out to Geno’s friends and family. RIP

When I met Geno… He had just came home from the Army and was driving a NICE 340/challenger.
We enjoyed talking about fast cars, rock n roll, and good times. What a great guy.

Met “Uncle Geno” through my uncle Gregg Jensen. He instantly became part of the Jensen family. I honestly thought we were family, he was such a great guy! My thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends.

Went to High School with Gene and worked at the Federal Prison with him what a great guy who will be missed

As with many of us, I know almost everyone in Adams Friendship I have fond memories growing up with the Manthey family. Particularily the boys, Gary, Gene, And my highschool classmate Greg. Snowmobiling and cooking hotdogs on Werner’s hill will always be one of my favaorite. All my condolecenses to Greg and his family.
