Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Monfils
A Memorial Gathering will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the family’s home in Grand Marsh, Wisconsin.
Betty was born July 19, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Carl and Irene Schmadl. She graduated from South Division High School in Milwaukee in 1959. She married Wilfred Monfils on August 27, 1966 in Illinois. Betty worked at the Wisconsin Telephone Company, which later became known as AT&T; and retired after 36 years of service. Betty and her husband moved to their home in Grand Marsh in 1992.
Betty enjoyed caring for her many dogs throughout her life and was a former member of the Red Hat Society. Also in her spare time, she wrote for the local newspaper.
Memorials may be directed in Elizabeth’s memory to Adams County Humane Society.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Irene Schmadl; sister, Geraldine Brown; and husband, Wilfred Monfils.
She is survived by her

Grandchild: Robin Bellin of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Joshua Hansen of West Bend, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Jenna Hansen of Appleton, Wisconsin
Brother: Charles (Sharon) Schmadl of St. Francis, Wisconsin
Brother-in-law: Gary Brown of Thermopolis, Wyoming
Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and six dogs.
