Donald “Pete” Lyle McClyman

Donald “Pete” Lyle McClyman, age 87 of Birchwood Wisconsin passed away on November 10, 2015.

Memorial Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Birchwood, Wisconsin on November 14th at 12:00 Noon. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Visitation will run from 11:00 a.m. until the start of service.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27th, 2015 at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin.

He was born April 6, 1928 in rural Adams County to Ulysses (Mac) and Jessie (Billings) McClyman.
Pete farmed with his Dad until he married Helen Christensen in 1952. They purchased a farm in Arkdale, Wisconsin where they farmed for 25 years. After farming, he performed carpentry work. He was active in the building of the church in Arkdale and also the Trinity Lutheran Church in Birchwood.

He was an active Lions member (Charter member of Roche-A-Cri Lions). He received the Melvin Jones Award for dedicated Humanitarian Services from Lions Club International Foundation.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Birchwood.

He was the happiest with a piece of lumber or a fishing rod in his hand. He particularly enjoyed fishing with his friends and family.

Pete is survived by his loving wife Helen, sister Alice (Ray) Moriarty of Mauston, Wi, 3 Sons, Michael (Kay) of Friendship, Wi, Dennis (Debby) of Cedar Rapids, IA, David (Roma) of Stevens Point, WI and daughter in-law Karen (Bryan) Peterson (Myron). Grandchildren include Kristine (John) McClyman, Kaycee (Jon) West, Bethany (Marc) Gaddis, Lucas McClyman, Katie (Ben) Fait, Kelsey McClyman, and step granddaughters Jennifer and Denise Konkol. Great-Grandchildren include: Connor, Marisa, Kadin, Jackson, Brooklyn, Liam, Evan, Kierce, Chase, Landan, Payton, and Emmitt. Sister-in-laws Chris Francis, of Sun Prairie, Julie Christensen of Mauston, Elaine (Butch) Rollins of Mauston, and Marie (Jack) Vodvarka of Wisconsin Dells.

He was preceded in death by son Myron, his parents, brothers Bob and Darwin, and brothers in-law Glen Christensen and Ely Francis.
