Carol “Patricia” Carlson

Carol “Patricia Sellhausen” Carlson lost her courageous battle with cancer on September 17, 2014.

Carol was born on July 17, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Clarence and Helen (Sloan) Sellhausen. On June 12, 1959 she married her sweetheart Dale Carlson.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Grand Marsh Community Center at 3:00 PM with the Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. Friends may call after 1:00 PM at the Community Center until time of services.

Carol loved playing poker, going to the casino and vacationing with her family and friends. She greatly enjoyed starting her day out spending individual time with her great grandsons Dakota, Bradley, Austin and Carson.

Carol was blessed that she was able to spend the last several months with her great-granddaughter Makenzie who made her smile even during the worst of times. She was very pleased that her son Wayne was able to help care for her and our father allowing them to spend their last winter in Florida together. While there, she was able to spend a lot of time with her very best life-long friends Cheryl Pasko and Barbara Leroy.

Carol is survived by her her loving husband: Dale Carlson of Port Charlotte, FL; her three children: Rose (Jim) Dallman, Wayne Carlson, Terry (Allen) Watson all of Janesville, WI; grandchildren: Duke (Tina)Dallman of Grand Marsh, WI; Victoria Matrick, Dale (Cassandra) Matrick, Tonya Dallman, Michael Carlson, Jonathan Carlson, Cody (katie) Carlson all of Janesville, WI; seven great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters; brothers: Earle Sellhausen of Easton, WI; Clarence Sellhausen of Milwaukee, WI; and sister, Janet of Texas.

Dear Uncle Dale and family, I am so very sorry for the loss of Aunt Carol. She will be greatly missed, but know that the love you shared will never go away. David, Debbie’s oldest, had done a sermon a while back in which he talked about “Ceasar’s Last Breath”, it was a little too scientific for me with talk of atoms and molecules, but basically he said that our breath never goes away, we all breath the same air, so the air that Aunt Carol breathed we are breathing. It gives me comfort knowing that part of our family, part of each of us, will always be here (ask Debbie about the sermon, it was quite good). My love, thoughts and prayers are with you all.

    Rest In Peace Auntie Carol.

    Love,
    Jamie

Our deepest sympathy and love to you Dale, Rosie, Terry, Wayne, Duke, Tina and Tonya, and the family. We have such wonderful memories of celebrating and staying with you all at Duke’s through the years. We were so blessed to have known her and share so many happy times with you all. Especially your 50th Anniversary! Being up early in the morning having coffee or chatting on the deck by the pool. Watching her playing cards and sharing fun times together with her family was the best memories. Her life was full of love and hugs from those she embraced the most! May God’s peace and comfort and loving arms hold you all today and your days ahead.

  5. Ann-Marie Pasko says:

Rest in peace, Aunt Carol. I am so sorry for your loss Uncle Dale, Rosie, Wayne, Terry, Tonya, Duke, and all of your children. When we were little, Alyson and I loved to name and count all of our dad’s brothers and sisters and husbands and wives and say them by name. Bonus points if you can name all of their kids. I don’t think I can name all of the grandchildren now but my thoughts and prayers are with everyone who is missing Aunt Carol right now. My mom and my brothers and sisters (and my mom’s adopted kids) send their thoughts and prayers as well. We have great memories telling ghost stories in the attic of the farm house. Also, I’ll never forget bringing Aunt Sis to Aunt Carol and Uncle Dale’s anniversary party in Grand Marsh. My son Evan was tiny at the time and now he is huge! I love being a part of a big family but it’s so sad when we lose another one. Love you Auntie Carol.
