Bruce A. Baumgartner, age 57, of Adams, Wisconsin died Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at his home following a long illness.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 02, 2015 at the Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Rev. John K. Stake will officiate. Visitation will be 11 to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Mt. Repose Cemetery, Friendship, Wisconsin.

Bruce was born January 12, 1958 in Portage, Wisconsin to Stephen Eldon and DeAnn Lee (VanTassel) Baumgartner. He grew up in Adams, Wisconsin and graduated from Adams-Friendship High School in 1976. Bruce later attended UW-La Crosse, La Crosse Tech College, and Mid-State Technical College. He worked for WCC as a crew leader for 13 years, overseeing the construction of the stairs at Roche-a-Cri State Park. Bruce also worked for the Adams County Parks Department until 2012.

Bruce enjoyed bowling, outdoors, fishing, music, spending time with his children, grandson, and his family.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Stephen E. Baumgartner; grandparents, Glen and Leila VanTassel;
grandparents, Stephen and Caroline Baumgartner; and aunts and uncles.

Son: Jacob Mills of Salt Lake City, Utah
Mother: DeAnn (Thomas) Davis of Adams, Wisconsin
Brother: Craig S. (Kathleen) Baumgartner of Laurel, Montana
Sister: JanAlyn (Don McGowan) Baumgartner of Adams, Wisconsin
Sister: Darcy Jo (Joseph) Kohlman of Elmwood, Wisconsin
Grandchild: Damian Mills-Beeman of Rome, Wisconsin
Nephew: Steven F. Baumgartner of Laurel, Montana
Niece: Katrina Baumgartner of Laurel, Montana
Niece: Kenna Kohlman of Elmwood, Wisconsin

Bruce was a kind and loving friend, and will be missed by many.

    Someone as special as Bruce will not ever be forgotten. He shall remain in our hearts forever. We have so many fond memories of Bruce. Motorcycle rides around Wisconsin; Washington Island and House on the Rock. Family events like showing up at the hospital the day the twins were born and their birthdays parties. Then of course he also worked for us at the bowling alley were everyone always enjoyed his company.

    One of my fondest memories of Bruce is when he would push Darcy in the stroller and Deann you would tell him to go slow and careful and the minute you would go in the house he would run like the wind laughing down the street !!!!! He was a great baby sitter and a gentle soul. I know you all will miss him. My Sincere Sympathies to you all.

    When I think of Bruce I think about the stairs at Roche – A – Cri Park. He and the Wisconsin Conservation Core did a fabulous job helping build the stairs so when we climb them we are safe and a little closer to heaven and now to Bruce.
