Stroebel, Donald G.

Beloved father, grandfather, soon-to-be
great-grandfather and friend passed away
unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at the age
of 78. Formerly a resident of Germantown, he lived
the last 12 years in Friendship, making many good
friends and working bingo at the VFW Post.
Don was born and raised in Whitefish Bay, and
after high school, served for four years in the Air
Force. He was stationed in Bitburg, Germany and has
remained close to his fellow servicemen throughout
the years. After returning home, he became a
journeyman cabinetmaker and had careers in
woodworking and sales. On April 16, 1955, he married
the former Margaret McGuire. He enjoyed woodworking,
travel, football (armchair coach), humor, friends,
and family. Don was a friendly, loving man who
touched many lives.
He is survived by his children, Diane Judkins
(Paul Gulbrand), Green Bay, Dave (Luana), Germantown
and Steve Stroebel, San Diego; grandchildren, Kevin
(Krystal) Mech and Kelly Mech (Jake Mehring);
Samantha, Andrew, and Elizabeth Stroebel; Zachary
and Erin Judkins; brothers, Al (Mary), Jack (Jutta),
Bob (Pat) Stroebel, and other nieces, nephews,
relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by
his beloved wife, Marge, his parents, and his
brother, Duane. Funeral services will be held on
Tues., Sept. 29 at 10:30AM, at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, 102 S. Park St., Friendship, WI. Visitation
will be 9AM until time of service. Roseberry Funeral
Home in Friendship is assisting the family with
arrangements. Private burial to be held at St. Leo's
Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
memorials to the American Heart Association are
appreciated.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Ben
Gulbrand of Curtis Ambulance and the Adams County
Sheriff�s Department for their assistance during
this time. |
