The State of Wisconsin, through the Wisconsin Funeral and Cemetery Aids Program (WFCAP) offers families that qualify a $1,500 benefit for funeral expenses and a $1000 benefit for cemetery expenses. The family or responsible party must pay the balance on the service selected and also pay all cash advance items before the funeral is scheduled in the newspaper.
If you choose to have a funeral or memorial service it must follow the following guidelines:
- visitation of one hour prior to the funeral ceremony .
- services will be held on a weekday (Monday – Friday) and start no earlier than 9 AM and conclude no later than 3 PM.
- the family or responsible party must pay the balance on the service selected and also pay all cash advance items (such as: flowers, clergy honorariums, newspaper expenses, limousine, restaurant reception costs, etc. ) before the funeral is scheduled in the newspaper or minister.
